What can karate do for you?
For Children:
- Karate helps children control their energy and aggressiveness, their emotions and their body.
- Children learn to respect each other and to train with everybody, with no distinction of gender,
race, religion, or experience. Moreover, when they are more experienced, they learn to share
their knowledge and to help the beginners to perfect their skills. Karate therefore helps them
to grow and to become responsible!
- Karate also teaches discipline, concentration, precision while developing confidence and determination.
- Karate encourages each child to transcend his limits, to overcome his fears, not only in the dojo
but in every aspect of his life.
For Adults:
- Karate helps us to control our energy and feelings and to develop our confidence, determination,
and the desire to pursue higher goals in our life.
- It not only offers the knowledge of self-defense, but also skills to avoid conflict (through anticipation and self-control).
- Karate, if practiced wisely, also benefits to one's general health condition and helps to relax and to be more serene.
For Seniors:
- The benefits are similar to the adults. However, our bodies, unfortunately, do not react the
same way when we turn 70 as when we were 20. That's why the training must be different, according
to the physical condition and capacities of each trainee. The techniques for seniors will be the
same as the ones taught to the adults but they will be performed in a slower rhythm with slightly
upper stances and less intensive exercises.
- Furthermore, karate is excellent for seniors because its helps on breathing, contraction,
relaxation, flexibility as well as concentration and memorization. Karate also helps seniors
to feel more confident and connected to the society as they practice the same martial art as
do their grandchildren's!
